Terms of service

d8way engineers date plans. You give it a city, a budget, a window of time and a mood; it reads tonight's weather, the sun and the moon, and real venues from OpenStreetMap, and composes a timed route through them. You can also browse plans other people have built and published.

Using the site means agreeing to what's on this page. If you don't, that's a fair position — please don't buy anything. You need to be 18 or older to make a purchase: partly because Creem requires it, and partly because a lot of these evenings end in a bar.

Every plan shows its first stop free. An unlock is a single payment that opens the rest of that one plan: every stop with its name, description and exact map pin, the timings, the reservation and ordering notes, the Plan B for weather that turns, the route drawn on a map, and the export links to Google and Apple Maps.

It does not expire. An unlock is a row in our database against your account with no end date, and the server checks for that row every time the plan is opened. There is no subscription, no re-purchase, and no mechanism in the product capable of taking it away. Prices sit between €3.90 and €9.90, always shown before you pay, always one-time.

Two caveats we'd rather state than have you discover. An unlock belongs to the account that bought it, so sign in with the same email. And “forever” honestly means as long as d8way exists — if we ever shut the site down we'll give notice and a way to take what you bought with you, rather than switching off the lights.

The order process is conducted by our online reseller and payment partner Creem, who is the merchant of record for every purchase on d8way. Creem charges your card, calculates and remits VAT, issues the invoice, and handles refunds and chargebacks. Their Buyer Terms apply to that part of the transaction alongside these.

Card details never reach our servers. What we receive is a signed confirmation that a payment completed, which we map to your account. Prices are tax-inclusive: the number on the unlock button is the number you pay.

Refunds have their own page, because they deserve one — how refunds work. Short version: if the night couldn't happen as written, you get all of your money back.

A plan is a suggestion built on real data, not a booking. We check opening hours where they exist, and we say so plainly where they don't — roughly eight in ten venues in a dense city centre carry no hours in OpenStreetMap at all, and a stop built on one of those is labelled “hours we couldn't verify”. That label isn't a disclaimer to skim past; it means call ahead.

We hold no tables and make no reservations for you. Also true:

• Venues close, change hands and take holidays without telling OpenStreetMap or us.
• Forecasts are forecasts. Every plan carries a Plan B for the moment one is wrong.
• Walking and travel times are computed from straight-line distance, not from a routing service — which is why a transit leg says “check the lines there” instead of inventing a departure time we don't have.
• Your evening is yours: your safety, your spending, your choices, and how much you drink.

Engineer a plan, unlock it yourself, and you can publish it for other people to buy. Before it goes live we run one pass that strips the personal details out of the prose — the anniversary, the name, the thing she hates — and show you exactly what changed, side by side, before you confirm. Nothing publishes without that confirmation. Venues, times and coordinates are never altered by publishing; only the words around them are.

You keep ownership of what you wrote and grant d8way a non-exclusive licence to sell unlocks of that plan and show it on the site. You set the price from the same seven steps everyone else uses, and you earn 20% of every unlock, for as long as it keeps selling. You can unlist a plan any time from your nights; people who already bought it keep it, because that is what “permanent” means.

Payouts have not started yet. Earnings accumulate and are shown on your dashboard to the cent; the rails to pay them out are still being built, and we're not going to invent a date for that. Publish because you want your night out in the world, and treat the balance as a promise we intend to keep rather than one we have kept.

Publish only nights you actually know. We remove plans that are invented, taken from someone else, or unsafe — and we tell you why.

Use the site like a person. Concretely, please don't:

• Republish or resell an unlocked plan. It's for you and the person you're taking out. Screenshot it for them; don't post it as your own.
• Scrape or bulk-download plans, or try to reach paid content without paying. The gate is server-side, so this mostly wastes your evening — but it's still a breach.
• Attack the thing. No probing for holes, no automated hammering, no running up our model bill for sport.
• Abuse the free-text note. It goes to a language model. Don't use it to generate content unrelated to a date, and don't put other people's personal information in it.
• Impersonate anyone, us included, or take a handle built to look like someone else's.

We can suspend an account that does these things. If we suspend yours and you think we're wrong, email hello@d8way.com — a person reads it.

We build this carefully and test it against reality, but we're a small team and the world moves. The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any one plan is capped at what you paid for it, and we aren't liable for a missed reservation, a closed door, a cancelled train or a bad night out.

Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that can't be signed away — including, in the EU, your right to a remedy when a digital product isn't what it was described as. Section 2 of the refunds policy is us putting that in writing rather than waiting to be asked.

If we change these terms we move the date at the top, and for anything that actually affects you we'll say so in the product rather than hoping you re-read this page. A change never applies backwards to a plan you already unlocked.

d8way is operated from Greece and these terms are governed by Greek law, with the mandatory consumer protections of your own country of residence unaffected. Your data is covered separately by the privacy policy, and the sources our plans are built on are credited on the credits page.
